Light in the Night

That night as I lay on a mattress on the floor

With troubling thoughts of the hours before

Tears rolling down my face

I felt the warmth of God's sweet embrace

As I thought of the events of that dark and dreadful day

I fell on my knees and prayed

A deep, heartfelt prayer to God

Then suddenly I was aware

That all the doom and gloom

And fear and darkness had left the room

A warm, bright and shining light

Illuminated the room that night

The radiant light burned deep inside my soul

And my heart overflowed

With songs of thanks and praise

As I felt the touch of God's sweet embrace

The warmth and brightness of the light

Was a reminder to me that night

Of my Saviour's mercy, love and grace

With His radiant, warm and sweet embrace
