Battle Weary Warrior

Like a battle weary warrior

I've been knocked down and nearly out

I am lying here wounded

Wondering what this is all about

The arrow that struck my back went deep

It blew me right off my feet!

I called out 'LORD

Come to my rescue

I desperately need You

I've been standing all alone in this battlefield

Please come and be my shield'

You saw me lying face down on the ground

No one else was around

You healed the wound that bled

And gently lifted my weary head

You carried me lovingly in Your arms

Away from danger and harm

You softly kissed me on my cheek

And whispered words that were so sweet

'You are my child so don't fear

This battle was never yours my dear

I am the only One you should fear

Fear not what man or woman can do to you

I am ALWAYS right here with you

This battle cannot be won in your own strength

My Word is always your best defence

The Enemy was crushed at your feet

He didn't stand a chance and had to retreat

My child there are things you cannot see

The powers of darkness had to flee

When I sent my Angel Armies to defend thee

The War is OVER

When I took ALL your sins

And died for you on the cross

And rose again VICTORIOUS'
